This is Jonny (and his little sister, Eli).
18 years after the first photo, Jonny brought a car for £270 and drove it to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia as part of the Mongol Rally. This is where he took the second photo. It was an incredible adventure.
This is John (and some students in Uganda)
In 2006 John set up PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools), a rapidly growing charity that aims to widen access to education in Africa by founding and developing quality sustainable, low-fee secondary schools. This is an amazing organisation.
In 2009 Jonny, working in London as a teacher on the TeachFirst scheme, volunteered for PEAS in the summer holidays, went to Uganda and met John, a TeachFirst ambassador. Their audacious disadvantage addressing worlds collided and of this relationship was born the U rally.
Since then the team has grown and below are some of our friends. If you know them and they haven't asked you to do the rally, get in touch as they are not doing their job and we will replace their face with yours! Alternatively, if you just want to help out and have any good ideas, useful connections or are a useful connection, please also get in touch!
